What does a B-s1,d0 fire rating mean for DécorSmartslat FR?

When choosing acoustic timber slat panels, appearance and acoustic performance are important - but so is fire performance.

Our DécorSmartslat FR range has been tested to BS EN 13501-1 and achieves B-s1,d0 reaction-to-fire classification. Whilst that sounds technical, the meaning is fairly straightforward.

The B rating means the product makes a very limited contribution to fire, s1 relates to low levels of smoke production, whilst d0 means no flaming droplets or particles are produced during testing.

For specifiers, this gives greater confidence when selecting timber acoustic finishes for projects where fire performance is an important consideration.

DécorSmartslat FR combines this tested performance with the natural look of timber slats and strong acoustic performance. Suitable for both walls and ceilings, it gives designers a way to create warm, considered interiors without overlooking the practical requirements of the space.

Remember, BS EN 13501-1 ratings certify the fire performance of the finished construction product as installed – not the separate or individual components used to make it.
